to join its team on the mid-day shift.
Position Overview
Shift Hours: 1:00 pm- 9:30 pm
Able to diagnose, adjust, and repair all series of automobile, truck, and trailer equipment including, but not limited to:
- Engines (gas and diesel)
- Clutches
- Differentials/Power Dividers
-Starters/Alternators
-Refrigeration Systems
- Steering gear box
- Power steering systems
- Engine electronics (gas/diesel)
- Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems
- Transmissions (manual and automatic)
- Preventative maintenance/ DOT inspections
- Air conditioning systems (including cold and hot units)
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections and diagnostic; identify worn and damaged parts.
- Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
- Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; make adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contract, valve mechanism, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
- Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
- Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Maintain Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintenance supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Update job knowledge by participating in education opportunities; reading technical and regulatory publications. (e.g. DOT)
- Enhance maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value.
- Comply with company safety program and training
Skills and Qualifications
The candidate must supply their own hand tools: specialty tools will be available for use.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent. (GED)
- Minimum 5 years practical, hands-on experience with automobile, medium and heavy-duty truck maintenance and repair.
- Proficiency in the use use of all tools-of-the-trade. (welding equipment, hand and power tools)
- Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions.
- Regularly life and/or move up to 25 lbs.
- Respond to road calls as required
Preferred:
- Vocational/Technical schooling or mechanical certifications(s).
- Basic computer skills for data entry into maintenance systems.
Compensation
Compensation package will be onstructed based on candidate'd experience. Benefits package includes health insurance (medical, prescription, dental,eye). 401k with company match, paid holidays, and paid vacation.
